My story telling style
Preserving the way your wedding day felt, not just how it looked

Having been an award-winning professional documentary photographer since 1977, I have learned to see special moments and visually tell a story. For me, each wedding is a fresh, important story to tell. I approach each wedding like I am creating a "Day In The Life" book.

Working as a newspaper photographer trains a photographer to see and react quickly to changing situations. Capturing moments in time as they happen.

You won't see me directing people to pose for photos. Since few people are good actors, posed photos always look posed. I don't have people do hokey things just for a picture. I am most successful when you and your guests forget I am there and you just enjoy the day. Of course, we will do some posed group photos if you like, but I'm not going to have you put your left hand on your mate's right shoulder, hold the cake knife a little higher, lower your chin, look a little more to the left and then act like you are cutting the cake. It just doesn't work for me.

If you are going to really cut the cake, I'll document the occasion as it happens. Hopefully there won˙t be cake on your face, but if there is, I will have recorded the memories.

The difference between a good photo and a great photo is the emotion. A good photo will show you what it was like being at the wedding. A great photo shows want it felt like to be at the wedding. I show the full range of emotions that are at a wedding. Some people are joyous, some are crying.

And that is the story I tell.
